法國作曲家、鋼琴家，同時也是「法國六人組」﹙Les Six﹚，迪雷﹙L﹒Durey﹚、奧內格﹙A﹒Honnegger﹚、米堯﹙D﹒Milhaud﹚、塔耶弗赫﹙G﹒Tailleferre﹚、歐瑞克﹙G﹒Auric﹚及普朗克﹙F﹒Poulenc﹚的成員之一，其與拉威爾有密切的往來，使得他和法國當代及現代作曲家都有相當的接觸，更深受薩替﹙E﹒Satie﹚和史特拉溫斯基的影響。
Poulenc不但被譽為法國藝術歌曲作曲家佛瑞之傳人，更被美國樂評家讚揚為「當今最優美曲調的創造者」。
鋼琴作品：鋼琴獨奏曲總計34首，屬現代樂派鋼琴音樂。
創作過程可分三個階段：
早期為1916~1921，作品偏向簡單明瞭、清晰單純的原則，並加入當時社會上流行的音樂元素，主要受到薩替、「法國六人組」及史特拉溫斯基的影響。
中期漸漸脫離早期作風，轉向浪漫的手法，受到蕭邦和舒曼的影響頗大。
晚期作品偏少，且著重於意境的表現。

The video I made today features a mystery violinist, that being said I believe there is no perfect recording of this piece as of yet.
I have uploaded rare out of print and unreleased recordings that are difficult to find, I hope you like them.

世間上無論什麼事情都有它的因，一個颱風的形成，有它形成的原因；地震，有地震的原因；一個人中了彩券，也有他得到意外之財的原因；人緣好、人緣不好，富貴、貧賤，都是其來有自，都自有緣由。當然，生活中的挫敗也有挫敗的原因：
第一、艱難由懶惰而來：有些人在創業時，遇到艱難困苦，求助無門；有些人沒有人緣，遇到挫折也得不到貴人相助。遭逢志不得伸，潦倒無奈時，千萬不要怨天尤人，要反觀自省，因為一切的艱難，必定從自己的懶惰而來。平常不勤做善事，不勤廣結人緣，不勤與人為善，事到臨頭，如何要求碰到好機緣？如何要求有貴人援手相助？
第二、苦楚由慳吝而來：有人覺得自己的人生黯淡無光，不由得要嫉妒、羡慕他人的快樂與春風得意。別人能夠左右逢源，必定有他的因緣，他肯與人為善，肯成就他人的快樂，他自然能有春風得意之報。人生黯淡無光的苦楚，則是拜慳吝所賜。太過慳吝、自私，不肯成就他人，自己也會失去好的際遇，不得人緣。捨得、捨得，若是從來都不捨，怎麼能得？
第三、藉口由推託而來：大部分的人不能成功的原因，是藉口太多。這個困難，那個不行，這項工作也拒絕，那項勞務也不做。這許多的託詞藉口，把原有的善因好緣都往門外推，白白錯失成功的機遇，當然就只好品嘗挫敗的滋味。
第四、貧苦由奢費而來：有些人慨嘆貧窮、困苦。此生貧窮的原因，一則是過去世未能種植富貴的因緣，如：布施、結緣，因此出生於落後之國、邊荒之地、貧窮之家。二則，今生雖生於小康或富貴之家，卻過於奢華，將家產耗盡，把福報輕易浪費掉，只得過著貧苦的生活。
佛教講因緣果報，「善惡之報，如影隨形；三世因果，循環不失」，有智慧的人害怕種下不好的因，所以「慎始」；凡夫眾生卻只怕結果，不知在因地下功夫，等果報來了，才畏懼、抱怨。我們要學習智者，留心原因，培植好因善緣，破除壞因惡緣，才能轉凡成聖。「挫敗之因」有四點，提醒大家：
第一、艱難由懶惰而來，
第二、苦楚由慳吝而來，
第三、藉口由推託而來，
第四、貧苦由奢費而來。
